  Crossville has developed a system of processing ceramic and porcelain tile back into powder used in manufacturing new tile.

   

• Grammy Winner to Open Greenbuild 2009

  Environmental advocate and nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow will help open the U.S. Green Building Council’s Greenbuild 2009 International Conference and Expo to be held Nov. 11-13 in Phoenix.

   

• Partnership Unveiled

  The Partnership for Sustainable Communities recently was unveiled by the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Department of Transportation.

  Johnson Controls Inc.’s commercial and vertical stacked water-source heat pumps can be used in water-loop, ground-water, or ground-loop applications.

  BULBRITE has introduced Color Changing LED Step Lights.

  Nora systems Inc. has launched a new Web site that supports the “All About Flooring, All About You” brand introduced earlier this year.

  “Introduction to Green Walls: Technology, Benefits and Design,” a Washington, D.C.-based American Institute of Architects continuing education systems course sponsored by Los Angeles-based greenscreen, explores characteristics of green façades, living walls, and green walls.

  The new dance complex at Point Park University recently achieved LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. At 44,000 square feet (4088 m2), the complex contains five rehearsal studios and performance spaces, with room for three additional studios.
